What can replace Enjoyable on a Mac in 2026?

The free app we would replace Enjoyable with is InputConfig, made by Rockstar Health: it turns controller buttons into keys and a stick into the mouse, and it is open source and updated for current macOS and controllers.

Enjoyable's last release, 1.2, came out on October 27, 2014. A community fork for Apple silicon exists, and so do other free and paid mappers, all compared below. We make InputConfig, so weigh our ranking with that in mind. If Enjoyable still runs for you and does what you need, there is no reason to move.

Which way we would go

Enjoyable still runs. Keep it.

It will not open. Use Open Anyway in System Settings, Privacy and Security, then try the enjoyable-silicon fork.

You want something current and free. InputConfig is free and open source like Enjoyable, updated for current macOS and controllers, with ready layouts for most of the games people mapped with Enjoyable.

Only Nintendo controllers. JoyKeyMapper is the small free answer.

Moving an Enjoyable setup to InputConfig

Many of the most-watched Mac controller tutorials on YouTube still teach Enjoyable, and the idea in them has not changed. You allow Accessibility, then press a button and choose the key it sends. In InputConfig that is Scan on a row, press the button, then Keyboard Key. A stick on the mouse becomes a Mouse Motion row, and one mapping per game becomes one preset per game, which can switch by itself when that game comes to the front. Enjoyable's downloadable mapping files cannot be imported, but the Smart Preset Maker has a ready layout for most of those games.

For Anki users

A lot of people found Enjoyable through Anki, because four face buttons are easier on the hands than the number row for an hour of reviews. InputConfig has a built-in Anki preset for the whole review loop: show answer and Good on the bottom button, Again, Hard and Easy on the others, and undo and replay audio on the bumpers.

Download Enjoyable safely

Get the original from Yukkuri Games or its Codeberg repository, and the fork from its GitHub page. Many other sites mirror Enjoyable, and since a mapper can type and click anywhere on your Mac, the original source is the one to trust. Both were built without Apple's notarization, so expect macOS to warn you the first time you open them.

The full guide

The step by step setup lives on the InputConfig site: Enjoyable on a current Mac, in detail. InputConfig is free on the Mac App Store, open source under the MIT license, and runs on macOS 14 or later on Apple silicon and Intel Macs.
